About the species
Anubia's barteri was. barteri from West Africa is an unpretentious plant. It grows slightly larger than Anubias barteri was. nana but grown under the same conditions. It grows between 25-45 cm high and has a creeping root system of 10-15 cm or more. Anubias barteri varies considerably in size and leaf shape.
Like other Anubias species, it is best planted in a shady location to minimize algae growth on the leaves. If planted in the bottom, the root system must not be covered as it tends to rot. It is also suitable for terrariums and paludariums. Herbivorous fish do not eat the very tough and robust leaves.
